Indian skeet shooter Angad Vir Singh Bajwa switches nationality, to represent Canada
Skeet shooter Angad Vir Singh Bajwa has switched nationality and will represent Canada in future competitions, the 30-year-old revealed through a social media post.
On December 25, Angad shared a picture of his new red shooting vest featuring his name and the Canadian flag on Instagram.
Angad represented India in men’s skeet event at the Asian Games in 2018 and the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
He won a gold medal at the Asian Shotgun Championships in 2018. At the Asian Championships in 2019, he grabbed a silver in the mixed team event with Ganemat Sekhon while also clinching a gold in men’s skeet, the latter coming with a world record perfect score of 60/60 in the finals in Kuwait.
He also had two gold and one bronze medal at ISSF World Cups. He last represented Indian at the international level at the Asian Shooting Championships 2025 in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
At the recent National Shooting Championships, he finished fourth in the men’s skeet final.
Angad’s family is settled in Canada where Gurpal, his father, runs a hospitality business, which could be one of the reasons behind the 30-year-old’s decision to move away from India.
