Women’s Junior Hockey World Cup: India starts campaign with 13-0 win over Namibia

India kicked off its FIH Women’s Junior World Cup 2025 campaign with a massive 13-0 victory against Namibia in Santiago, Chile on Monday.

Kanika Siwach and Hina Bano were the top performers for India with a hat-trick each, which included two field goals and a Penalty Corner conversion. Sakshi Rana scored a brace while Ishika, Sonam, Binima Dhan, Sakshi Shukla and Manisha bagged a goal apiece.

India earned a total of 13 Penalty Corners and converted five, with three of those coming in the third quarter. That the side allowed no PCs and restricted the opposition to just two circle entries was telling of its dominance.

In the other match in Pool C, Germany prevailed 7-1 against Ireland. India will take on Germany in its next fixture on Wednesday, followed by its final Pool match against Ireland on Friday.
