ISSF World Championships 2025: Elavenil Valarivan wins bronze in women’s 10m air rifle

Asian Champion Elavenil Valarivan clinched the bronze medal in the Women’s 10m air rifle event at the ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Championships in Cairo on Saturday.

Finishing with a score of 232.0, the Indian shooter displayed exceptional form throughout the final, even leading the pack at one stage. However, a crucial shot of 10.0 on the 19th attempt unfortunately caused a slip in her position, ultimately settling her in the third spot.

The gold medal went to the Olympic Champion, Ban Hyojin, who demonstrated her class to win the event. World record holder Wang Zifei of China won silver.

Elavenil became only the third Indian shooter after Anjum Moudgil (2018) and Mehuli Ghosh (2023) to win a World Championships medal in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle discipline.
