National Junior Athletics Championships 2025: Parth Singh breaks long jump meet record
A day after securing the 100m title, Chinese Taipei-based Parth Singh, representing Jharkhand, leaped to 7.82m to break the six-year-old men’s under-20 long jump meet record in the National junior athletics championships at the Kalinga Stadium here on Saturday.
He jumped more than the World under-20 championships qualifying mark (7.58m).
Javelin thrower Himanshu Jakhar, who bettered Neeraj Chopra’s long-standing under-18 record in the qualifying stage with 79.96m, improved to log 80.38m and won the gold.

Under-20 medallists in 400m men’s (Mohammed Ashfaq, Sharan M., and Rohit Chaudhary) and women’s (Neeru Pathak, Mehardeep Kaur and Saroj Kanwar) races clocked lower than Worlds under-20 qualifying marks of 47.40 and 55.20 respectively.
