China Smash 2025: Manav-Manush pair crashes out in quarterfinal
Indian paddlers Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah bowed out in the quarterfinal stage of the China Smash 2025 in Beijing on Thursday.
The Indian pair lost 6-11, 7-11, 11-9, 9-11 to China’s Chen Junsong and Zhou Qihao in a match that lasted just over 28 minutes.
They had reached the final eight stage after defeating Martin Allegro and Adrien Rassenfosse.
The defeat also meant that India’s campaign in the tournament had come to an end.

Senthilkumar, Chotrani in Charlottesville Open quarters
India’s Velavan Senthilkumar and Veer Chotrani moved into the quarterfinals of the Charlottesville Open squash, a USD 31,250 PSA Copper event, in Charlottesville (US) on Wednesday.
Reigning National champion Senthilkumar, world No. 45 and the fourth seed, eased past Mexican Cesar Salazar 11-5, 11-5, 11-9 in the round-of-16 and will next meet Egypt’s Salman Khalil.
Seventh seed Chotrani, who won the second leg of the HCL Squash Indian Tour in Mumbai last month, beat Pakistan’s Md Ashab Irfan 11-2, 11-1, 9-11, 14-12 and will lock horns will top seed American Timothy Brownell next.
Both Indians received first-round byes.

Indian Junior Women’s hockey team loses 4-5 to Canberra Chill in last contest of Australia tour
The Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team suffered a narrow 4-5 loss to Canberra Chill in its last match in the Australia Tour, at the National Hockey Centre, Canberra.
For India, the goals came from Sukhveer Kaur (6’), Kanika Siwach (42’), Sunelita Toppo (54’) and Ishika (57’) while for Canberra Chill, Canhess Lauren Yee (12’, 19’), Canhess Josie Lawton (24’), Hunter Baldwin (28’) and Amukawton (34’) were the goalscorers.

Delhi golfer Arjun Prasad opens up six-shot lead in TN Open
Aiming for his maiden PGTI title, Delhi golfer Arjun Prasad came up with the day’s best score of four-under 68 to increase his lead to six shots at the end of the penultimate round of the Rs one crore Tamil Nadu Open here on Thursday.
The 26-year-old Arjun (70-70-68), who was overnight leader by one shot, took his total to eight-under 208 after three rounds at the Coimbatore Golf Club.
Sri Lankan N Thangaraja (72-73-69) gained six spots following his round of 69 to end the day in tied second at a total of two-under 214.
Arjun Sharma (72-72-70) of Noida, whose round featured an eagle, jumped four spots following his 70 in Round 3 to also be placed tied second.

The Chief Minister’s Trophy Games 2025 commenced today across multiple cities in Tamil Nadu, with action across multiple categories including silambam, badminton, football, kabbadi among other sports.
The Games are happening across 13 cities, including Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Nagapattinam, Dindigul, Tanjavur, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Salem and Chengalpattu and will feature a prize money of Rs. 37 crores.
