PKL 2025 Highlights: Jaipur Pink Panthers’ stunning comeback, U Mumba back to winning ways

Jaipur Pink Panthers completed a remarkable turnaround to edge Haryana Steelers 37-36 in a thrilling contest at the SDAT Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday.

The defending champion, at one point, trailed by 10 points, but the Narender Redhu-coached side roared back with a sensational final-quarter surge, racking up 17 points to seal the win.

Sahil Satpal and Ali Samadi stepped up with seven and six points respectively, while Aryan Kumar and Deepanshu Khatri contributed four tackle points each. For the Steelers, Vinay’s Super 10 and Rahul Sethpal’s High Five were not enough to tilt the result.

The victory also served as a measure of revenge for Panthers head coach Redhu, who had lost to Haryana Steelers and Manpreet Singh in the PKL 11 final while in charge of Patna Pirates.

Back-to-back defeats have pushed Haryana Steelers down to fourth place, while the Panthers climbed to fifth with this win.

U Mumba secured a comprehensive 42-24 win over Tamil Thalaivas, climbing up the table in the process.

Leading the charge in attack was Sandeep, who recorded his third consecutive Super 10 of the season, while Lokesh Ghosliya and Sunil Kumar registered High Fives in defence. Their combined efforts neutralised Nitesh Kumar’s High Five for the Thalaivas, ensuring U Mumba’s dominance across the mat.

The victory ended U Mumba’s three-match losing streak and lifted the side to sixth place in the standings, while Tamil Thalaivas slipped to ninth.
