Neeraj Chopra qualifies for World Athletics Championships 2025 javelin throw final


India’s Neeraj Chopra qualified for the final of the javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships 2025 in Tokyo on Wednesday.

Neeraj, the defending champion, beat the automatic cut-off mark of 84.50m with an 84.85m throw from his first attempt in the qualification round.

Three more Indians will be in action in the javelin throw qualification round – Sachin Yadav in Group A and Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh in Group B.

Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who beat Neeraj to the gold at the Paris Olympics, will also be in action in Group B.

The javelin throw final will happen on Thursday, with the action starting at 3:53 PM IST.
