Mondo Duplantis creates World Record for 14th time, clears 6.30m at World Athletics Championships 2025
Sweden pole vaulter Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis cleared a height of 6.30m at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Monday to break the World Record for the 14th time after winning his third consecutive world title.
His previous best — at 6.29m — came at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial in Budapest in August this year. It was the Duplantis’ fourth record of 2025, having also cleared 6.27m in Clermont-Ferrand in February and 6.28m at the Stockholm Diamond League in June.
The 25-year-old had won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 by clearing a record 6.25m. He has bettered the World Record five times since.
In men’s pole vault, Greece’s Emmanoiul Karalis secured the second place with a best of 6.00m. Australia’s Kurtis Marschall claimed third place with 5.95m.
