Armand Duplantis sets 14th pole vault WR at World Championships — Full list of Mondo world records
Olympic champion Armand Duplantis broke the pole vault world record for the 14th time when he cleared a height of 6.30m at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Monday, handing him his third straight title.
The 25-year-old had won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 by clearing a record 6.25m. He has bettered the World Record five times since.
Mondo first leapt past the world record in 2020 when cleared 6.17 metres in Torun, Poland, bettering Renaud Lavillenie’s 6.14 from 2014.
He now goes past Sergey Bubka (13), of the erstwhile Soviet Union, for the athlete with the most instances of breaking the world record.
