Anahat finishes runner-up at NSW Squash Bega Open
Top seed Anahat Singh went down to second seed Habiba Hani of Egypt in the final of the NSW Squash Bega Open, a PSA World Tour (Copper Level) event, in Australia on Sunday.
The 17-year-old Anahat, playing her maiden World Events final, clinched the opening game 11-9 but Hani bounced back to win the next two 11-5 and 11-8. The Egyptian led 10-4 in the fourth game when Anahat decided to retire from the match.

Europe Smash: Yashaswini qualifies for main draw
Yashaswini Ghorpade qualified for the main draw at the Europe Smash in Malmo, Sweden, on Saturday.
Yashaswini defeated Serbia’s Izabela Lupulesku 3-1 (7-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-6) in the final round of qualifiers. The Indian will take on Chinese World No. 5 Wang Yidi in the round of 64 on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Diya Chitale lost 0-3 (7-11, 3-11, 9-11) to Germany’s Annett Kaufmann iwhile Manush Shah went down 2-3 (11-7, 4-11, 9-11, 11-3, 7-11) to Luxembourg’s Luka Mladenovic in the final qualifying round.
