Shooting League of India 2025: Format, Pools, and Athlete Categories EXPLAINED
The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has launched the inaugural edition of the Shooting League of India (SLI), a franchise-style competition aimed at reshaping the sport’s competitive structure. The league has already attracted over 400 athletes from more than 20 countries, including the USA, Germany, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, and Australia, with registrations open until mid-July 2025.
The first season is scheduled to run from November 20 to December 2, 2025. Events will feature mixed team formats across pistol (10m, 25m), rifle (10m, 50m three-position), and shotgun (trap and skeet), as outlined by the NRAI Technical Committee.
A minimum of six teams will compete, split into two pools for the league stage. Participants will be divided into four categories — Elite Champions, World Elite, National Champions, and Junior & Youth Champions — in an effort to balance top-level experience with emerging talent.
