Asian Athletics Championships 2025: Rupal, Pooja win silver medals; Yoonus bags bronze

Rupal Chaudhary bagged a silver medal in the women’s 400m at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025, held in Gumi, South Korea, on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old clinched India’s first medal of Day 2. Yoonus Shah added another with a bronze in the men’s 1500m.

Later, Pooja secured a silver medal in the women’s 1500m.

In the women’s 400m, Rupal clocked a personal best of 52.68s to finish second. Vithya Ramraj, the other Indian in the race, placed fifth with 53s.

In the men’s 1500m, Yoonus led for much of the race but faded in the final stretch, settling for bronze with a time of 3:43.03.

Pooja pushed hard in the women’s 1500m but had to settle for second, clocking 4:10.83. Lili Das finished fourth in 4:13.81.

In the men’s 400m, Vishal TK set a personal best of 45.57s, narrowly missing bronze by just 0.02s.
