My ambition is to hit 100m mark: Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem sets new target ahead of Asian Athletics C’Ship
Arshad Nadeem said on Thursday that his next target is to breach the 100m mark after winning the Olympic gold medal in Paris.
Nadeem’s throw of 92.97m in the Paris Games set an Olympic record, breaking the previous record set by Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway, who threw the javelin at a distance of 90.57 metres during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing).
The Pakistani athlete is keen to take the next step at the Asian Athletics Championship scheduled to take place from May 27 to 31 in Gumi, Korea.

“I have always said that I always compete with myself, and my ambition is to hit the 100m mark,” the Pakistani javelin thrower said.
Arshad, the silver medallist at the World Championships in 2023, had a previous personal best of 90.18 metres, which he secured at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. The throw had won him the gold medal.
Nadeem, who has been training rigorously at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore, decided to skip the Doha Diamond League 2025. He departed for Korea on Thursday.
