After finally breaking the coveted 90m-barrier at the Doha Diamond League 2025, Neeraj Chopra will aim to improve on that at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial 2025 athletics meet in Poland on Friday.
What is the Kusocinski Memorial meet?

- First held in 1954, it’s Poland’s oldest track and field competition.
- Named after legendary Polish Olympic champion Janusz Kusocinski.
Despite a brilliant throw of 90.23m, Neeraj finished second at Doha, courtesy of Julian Weber’s throw of 91.06m, which was also the latter’s maiden 90m throw.
Weber, a European champion in 2022 and silver-medallist in 2024 will be there in Poland too, along with two-time world champion Anderson Peters (PB: 93.07m) of Grenada, who finished third in Doha with a throw of 84m.

The Janusz Kusocinski Memorial 2025 athletics meet will be Neeraj’s third event of the season, which started in South Africa at the Potch Invitational Track event, where he emerged on top with a throw of 84.52m.
