F1 China GP 2025: Leclerc, Gasly disqualified for underweight cars
Ferarri’s Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly of Alpine have been disqualified from the Chinese Grand Prix 2025 by the stewards after the race on Sunday.
The governing body of Formula One, FIA, said released an official statement where it pointed out that weight of both the cars were below minimum weight required (800kg).
Leclerc finished fifth, while Gasly 11th, just outside the points.

The Monegasque disqualification hands a significant blow to both Ferrari and the drive, who have lost 10 points in constructors championship and drivers championship respectively.
Earlier, Australian Oscar Piastri roared back from season-opening disappointment in his home race by winning the Chinese Formula One Grand Prix from pole position in a McLaren one-two with championship-leading teammate Lando Norris.
George Russell finished third for Mercedes, ahead of Red Bull’s reigning champion Max Verstappen with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Saturday sprint winner Lewis Hamilton fifth and sixth.
With the new update, Haas’ Esteban Ocon and Mercedes’ Andrea Kimi Antonelli gets moved up to fifth and sixth, respectively after originally finishing seventh and eighth.
