Federation Cup 2024: Neeraj Chopra edges past DP Manu to win javelin throw gold, Kishore Jena falters

Reigning Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra won the men’s javelin throw gold at the Federation Cup 2024 in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

Chopra edged past DP Manu after trailing behind for three rounds with a throw of 82.27m in his fourth attempt in comparison to the latter’s first throw of 82.06m.

This is the Asian Games gold medallist’s first time competing on Indian soil after three years. In 2021, he took part in the same event and won gold with a throw of 87.80m.

Kishore Jena, a Diamond League debutant this year, fouled three times out of six attempts.
